Scary picture, eh? Scary music.
Coming to us from England, Blurt is a bizarre little beast. Formed by puppeteer and saxophone player (wonder if he can do both at the same time?) Ted Milton in 1980, Blurt has stayed active all this time, releasing 32 albums in just 28 years. It looks like that’s coming to an end, however, as the current tour is being billed as “The Last Last Tour”.
Blurt - Machina Machina - 1992
Reminds me of what P.I.L. might have turned into had they not gone the pop route. I must say, Blurt made for very appropriate listening this evening while the killer thunderstorms/tornadoes passed through Lexington.
Nathan over at Nothin’ Sez Somethin’ has a fantastic explanation of No Wave music along with descriptions and mp3’s from many of the key artists, including Blurt.

Blurt only released eleven proper (11) albums during their 30-year career, not including two (2) ‘best of”-compilations and half a side on the “A Factory Quartet” double album.
I wish it were 38 though….

Well, I was using the discography on Ted / Blurt’s website so I assumed it to be accurate. Of course, I realize that some of these releases were compilations and side-projects, but the point is that they’ve been active over the many years…
