Vampire Weekend – S/T – 2008

February 15th, 2008 · No Comments · New Releases

Vampire_Weekend

I just received my copy of the Vampire Weekend debut in the mail so it’s time for the obligatory Vampire Weekend post. True, they’re already old-hat for those of you that have been keeping up with the ins and outs of the indie blog scene, but there are still plenty folks that are Vampire virgins. This post is for them.

Vampire Weekend’s rise is a perfect example of the internet functioning at it’s best. This band has a record deal because of people like you and I noticing quality and sharing it with others. What a nice, organic way to do things. The days of formulaic radio rock may soon come to an end!

Speaking of Bonnaroo, tickets go on sale tomorrow (2/16) at noon e.s.t. Lot’s of great acts and a few really bad ones. I went in 2004 and I highly recommend making the trip.

For those of you who know me or are familiar with the music venue I run, The Dame, you might be interested in the two articles in today’s paper concerning us. One is about the proposed development (now a skyscraper) that is poised to force out The Dame. The other, on a more positive note, is simply about the types of drinks that are popular at our club.
